With all of the recent lawsuits being filled against Bloggers for copyright issues, trademark violations
and other content references, it is time for bloggers to unite and have an organization
that can assist bloggers that may be confronted with these situations.
The BlogAssist Organization was established as a program to assist members in the event that you
ever become involded in a legal situation arising from the posting of content, links, or graphics on your blog.
While we do NOT encourage or support the unlawfull use of any copyrighted content on your blog, we do know
that many bloggers are now being legally harased by law firms and their clients for a variety of issues.
Examples include postings that include trademarked words, logos,
article summaries, references to quotes, and posted comments about local businesses and organizations.
These charges are not always driven by "Big Media" companies and publishers.
Anyone can take offense to something that you post of your blog!
For example, a local business owner may not like the comments that you published about their business.
What does BlogAssist.org do for you?
Don't think for a moment that "Freedom of Speech" will stand behind you!
You have the right to say whatever you want, within reason... But other people have the right to file a "suit" against you.
That is simply how the system works... And this is why we have established the BlogAssist.org site.
